Two weeks with rental car through Alaska!
 

After arriving in Anchorage head due north to the Matanuska Valley. Continue to Talkeetna for the flight over Mt. Mc Kinley.
Drive to Valdez. By ferry through the Prince William Sound to Whittier.
Head south to the Kenai Peninsula and the fishing port of Seward. While in Seward, take a glacier cruise in the Gulf of Alaska and walk to the face of one of the Kenai Peninsula’s post popular attractions, Exit Glacier.
Nature, history, culture, and play all make this perhaps our most ambitious and fun tour offering ever!
 
Day 1: Anchorage/ Matanuska Valley
Arrive in Anchorage. Pick up the rental car. Drive to Matanuska Valley, Alaska’sFarmland. Overnight in cabins. About 45 minutes drive.
     
 
Day 2: Matanuska Valley
Visit Hatcher Pass and the goldmine. Great trails for walking. Visit the musk ox farm.

Day 3: Matanuska Valley/Talkeetna
Drive to Talkeetna. Flight over Mt. Mc Kinley with glacier landing. Tours optional: Guided hiking tours. Rafting tours. By Jet boat on the Susitna River. Overnight in Talkeetna.
   
     
Day 4: Tangle Lake
Depart Talkeetna and drive the Denali Highway to Tangle Lake. 2 nights at the cabin. Great area for hiking, walking and kayaking. If weather permits, to see the “Alaska Range” is breathtaking.

Day 5: Tangle Lake
Enjoy Tangle Lake and the surroundings.

Day 6: Valdez
Leave Tangle Lake to Glennallen and continue to Valdez. On the way visit Copper Center and Worthington glacier. Overnight in Valdez.

Day 7: Prince William Sound
By ferry through the Prince William Sound to Whittier. Then continue to the Kenai Peninsula to Seward.
2 nights in Seward.

Day 8: Seward/Kenai Fjord
Day tour by boat through Kenai Fjords National Park and the Gulf of Alaska. Sea lions, sea otters, puffin and eagles can be seen on this tour. Lunch will be served on board.

Day 9: Seward/Homer
Visit the Exit glacier. Continue your journey to Homer to see the Russ. Orth. Church in Ninilchick. Walk and picnic on the beach, if weather permits. Stop at Anchor Point for another beach walk. Very often eagle can be seen there. Continue to Homer to overnight. 3 nights in Homer.

           

Day 10: Homer
By plane to the coast of Katmai for bear viewing. An unforgettable adventure!

Day11: Homer
Optional tours: By boat to Seldovia. A quaint village. Or a guided kayak tour.

Day 12: Girdwood/Alyeska
Drive to Soldotna and continue to Girdwood/Alyeska. Alaska’s ski area. Great area for hiking. Overnight in Girdwood.

Day 13: Anchorage
Tours optional:
* By helicopter to the glacier. The huskies are waiting. Dog sled run on the glacier.
* Visit Big Game.
* Take the gondola to the top of the mountain. Drive to Anchorage to overnight. 2 nights.

Day 14: Anchorage
Day on your own.

Day 15: End of the tour
Return the car. Transfer to the airport.
