Alaska by Rental Car – 14 days:
After an overnight rest in Anchorage, head due north to the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.
Continue on to Alaska's crown jewel, Denali National Park and Preserve. Take a bus tour through the park, home of brown bears, caribou, moose, eagles, fox, Dall sheep, just to name a few. Next, head up to Fairbanks - your jumping off point to a relaxing Chena Hot Springs visit.
From Fairbanks, drive the Richardson Highway to Valdez, then travel by ferry through the Prince William Sound to Whittier.
From Whittier, head south to the Kenai Peninsula and the fishing port of Seward. While in Seward, take a glacier cruise in the Gulf of Alaska and walk to the face of one of the Kenai Peninsula’s post popular attractions, Exit Glacier.

Itinerary:
DAY 1: Arrive in Anchorage. Pick up the rental car. Drive about an hourto Matanuska Valley, Alaska’s Farmland. Overnight in cabins.
DAY 2: Visit Hatcher Pass and the historic goldmine. Continue to Talkeetna, a quaint little former mining village which is now a jumping off point for Denali National Park and Mt. McKinley flight seeing tours. Overnight 2 nights.
DAY 3: Flight see Mt. McKinley and land on a glacier.
Optional tours: Guided hiking tour.
- Rafting tour on the Susitna River.
DAY 4: Continue to Denali.
Optional tours:
- Denali Tour, a scenic bus tour into the Park.
DAY 5 & 6: To Fairbanks. Sightseeing around Fairbanks and Overnight..
Optional tours:
- Visit Chena Hot Springs.
- Visit Alaskaland.
- Tour the University of Alaska Museum.
DAY 7: Leave Fairbanks very early. It is a long, beautiful drive to Valdez. On the way visit Copper Center and Worthington Glacier. Overnight in Valdez.
DAY 8: Travel by ferry through the Prince William Sound to Whittier. Then continue to the Kenai Peninsula to Moose Pass. Overnight.
DAY 9: Take a day trip by boat through Kenai Fjords National Park and the Gulf of Alaska. Sea lions, sea otters, puffins and eagles can be seen on this tour.
Lunch will be served on board. Overnight in Moose Pass.
DAY 10: Drive on to Homer. Along the way, stop in the small town of Ninilchik to see the Russian Orthodox church. 3 nights in Homer.
DAY 11 & 12:
Optional tours available:
- Halibut fishing
- Travel by water taxi to the other side of the bay to Halibut Cove
- Travel by floatplane to the coast of Katmai for bear viewing
- Take a boat tour to Seldovia
DAY 13: Drive to Soldotna and continue to Girdwood, Alyeska, Alaska’s premier Ski area. Overnight.
DAY 14:
Optional tours available:
- Fly by helicopter to the glacier and experience mushing with huskies on the glacier
- Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
- Tide the tram car to the top of the ski mountain
DAY 15: Drive back to Anchorage. Return car. Fly home or continue with another Euro Alaska Tours package.
